Prepare for the party

Target group: Preschool children, beginner level
Time: 40 minutes
Theme: Construction and planning

To create an environment that stimulates:

Play that challenges children's motor skills, communication, collaboration and problem solving, as well as their ability to think in images and symbols.
Prerequisites for thinking, learning and communicating in different contexts and for different purposes.
Children's ability to explore, communicate and reflect.

Start by talking about parties:
- Questions to ask:
  - What do you want to do at your next party?
  - Where would you have liked to have your party?
Describe the scenario:
- It's Chewy Beaver's birthday and he wants to invite his friends to his dream party. To create his dream party, Chewy needs a place to be and a table and chairs. Can the children help him with that?

Group division: Divide the children into three smaller groups.
Divide materials: Have the children divide the Eazymec pieces and connectors into three equal parts.
Assignment: Give each group one of the following assignments:
- Mission 1: Build a house where Chewy can celebrate his party.
- Assignment 2: Build three chairs for Chewy, so that Chewy's friends can participate in the birthday celebration.
- Mission 3: Help Chewy build a table where they can eat the cake.

When the groups are finished, have them show their constructions and explain how they will be used.
Thank the children from Tugge Bäver for their help and take apart the constructions together.

Beskriv scenariot:
- Tugge Bäver fyller år och vill bjuda sina vänner på sitt drömkalas. För att skapa sitt drömkalas behöver Tugge ett ställe att vara på samt bord och stolar. Kan barnen hjälpa honom med det?

Gruppindelning: Dela upp barnen i tre mindre grupper.
Dela material: Låt barnen dela Eazymec-skivorna och låsen i tre lika stora delar.
Uppdrag: Ge varje grupp ett av följande uppdrag:
- Uppdrag 1: Bygg ett hus där Tugge kan fira sitt kalas.
- Uppdrag 2: Bygg tre stolar åt Tugge, så att Tugges vänner kan delta i födelsedagsfirandet.
- Uppdrag 3: Hjälp Tugge att bygga ett bord där de kan äta tårtan.

När grupperna är klara, låt dem visa sina konstruktioner och förklara hur de ska användas.
